Hi friggindeals and Carol,
In addition to moderating this forum I also have a business to run and a family to take care of, just like probably most forum members.
I hit the 'New Posts' and go through each one and look at the last page of posts.
If any thing in a post looks like links or other business/self promotion for the purpose of making money, I delete them.
If I see posts by 'first timers' that contain affiliate links or other inappropriate material they get their posts deleted and an immediate permanent ban.
If you only got posts deleted and not even a temporary ban then it was for the reason above. If you didn't get a ban then I didn't see/delete more then a couple of posts. Another reason that a post might be deleted and the user not get a ban is because they appear to be helping the other forum members often, this goes a long way to getting a post deleted but avoid getting a ban, be it temporary or permanent.
I look briefly at the post content, there is just not enough time to read every word, follow every link and then inform every offender, and then debate with them over the merits of their post. That's just not gonna happen unless I'm on the payroll!
Have A Nice day!
