Let’s write a Blog.. The Journal of a Newbie

Well I am a month into this world of Affiliate Marketing. I bought the package from Anthony and they were well worth the price. What was nice is that they were easy to read and understand. The whole time I am reading these books I am thinking let’s go! Let’s get started! Patience can be a tough thing. So after reading and watching videos I started out with some PPC adds on Yahoo and Google, ok ok I know most people recommend a Landing page to direct traffic to, problem is I have never created anything like a web page before and PPC is a way to start right away. Well here I am a green horn to any of this and I am setting up accounts on Yahoo and Google. With some help from the books I figured out the account setup and successfully completed it. But now BAM I needs ads!! Well I have never written an add before , quite frankly I am a person that always disliked or mistrusted adds but now I need to write one. Ok I can do this I thought; they are short and sweet and to the point so let’s write them. So first of first I need to go through the Campaigns and see what’s what with these. Well that was a whole project, which one to use, what makes sense to start with. Well I picked 3 and wrote ads set a budget and picked some keywords. All fun stuff. They went active and hot dog I am in the Affiliate Marketing Business. Well I got some pretty good click numbers and that was a feel good moment. I will say so far I have not made much money, my affiliate marketing business is in the red and that is a bit painful but also to be expected I am hoping. Although all the results for month one are not in as sales or % of sales seem to be slow to report, so the final tally for September is still out.

Well starting the beginning of October I have begun to work on this Landing Page thing. First off to make a web page is not as easy one may think. I am currently working on learning the program Dreamweaver, ok that is a challenge but a Dummies Book is helping me out. I am still trying to learn just what to do with this Landing Page once I make it but hey one step at a time. Ok I know yes a person can get one made by someone else and there are some short cuts but I like to learn things for myself first.

So what do I know so far? Well as Anthony has said this is not a get rich overnight thing and yes it is a lot of work and a lot of learning. But if .. if just maybe I can make this work it will be worth it to build something for myself..

Well that’s my story up to now, I think it is a lot of peoples story here. There ya go my first blog.
