The greatest thing happened to me the other day. I was coming out of the grocery store and there was a lady riding one of those little carts and she was struggling. I walked over to her and she acted scared like I was going to hurt her or rob her and I offered to help her and she refused. I walked away but it bothered me so I went back and as I approached her again she turned from this hard person to a very beautiful person. We ended up having a 30 min chat about faith, her dead husband, her children and so on. I helped her load her groceries in her car and I turned to leave and she grabbed me buy the arm and pulled me to her and hugged me. She stuck a $20 bill in my shirt pocket and I didn't even know until later.
That lady was 87 years old and she blessed me so much. That small thing that happened that day has brought even more sincerity and meaning to what I do each day. You don't give up if you fail the first time, you go back and start over until you get it right.

You just never know who you are until...
Thank you for sharing this with us.
Great job persevering.
I have been the "oldlady" in that I can be reserved until I get to know someone. I put the guard up and then feel foolish once a person gives me a chance to show them the real me.
Did you share your reward with others?
Have a great day!!!

Thanks for your story. It's too easy to get caught up in the quest for profits and forget what life is all about. I promise to take your story and pay it forward.Posted 03-14-2011 at 08:10 PM by AidforCongoKids

That was a great story! You were correct, we can't let rejection keep us from moving forward. It's hard when the rejection is coming from people close to you though. I learned that sometimes you have to have something concrete to show the people you love....and even then you may have to move forward without them! I've finally gotten completely tired of being broke myself so I'm moving forward to learn all that I can from everyone who's willing to share. Have a great one!Posted 12-13-2011 at 04:49 AM by Glorita
