Let me start by saying that i've been following Anthony Morrison on Facebook and Twitter for months now and his inspirational tweets and messages are just what I need sometime. I am very happy to hear about the affiliate program starting soon! I can't wait to take part. I encourage you to add me as a friend on facebook or twitter. My name is David Herpin and my profile picture on facebook has me spitting fire, kind of hard to mistake me for anyone else, also add me to twitter @ mixologistdavid . I left a post here a few months ago introducing myself saying business wasn't good at all, but I was going to keep at it. Well, business still isn't good, but great things are happening. Let me tell you my story, about a year ago, a fire broke out in my house in the middle of the night. It was in the kitchen and I told my wife to grab my son who was still only 1 year old and get the F^%& out of there. My wife was really worried about our dog, I thought he had ran out of the house long ago. So, I ran inside with a garden hose and starting spraying all over where the fire was, which was really out of control at this point, and it seemed to be making it worse. All kinds of weird popping sounds were going on. anyway, I tried to make it to my computers (I had 4 really high performance computers, set up like the matrix, lame I know, but true). I was really worried about my book I had been working on for 4 YEARS! The computer room was overtaken by flames and I was still considering going in after it. Eventually, I had to either go for it or get out, either way staying where I was was only going to get me killed. I let it go, and ran out of the house. I couldn't even call the fire department because my phone was burning inside, so at 3 am, I knocked on my neighbors door and told them to call the fire department. We waited outside what seemed like forever and the fire department came. It was too late, everything was gone. I was crushed, I thought I had lost my whole life's work and everything I had ever obtained in life. This couldn't be further from the truth. By chance, a friend of mine asked for a copy of my book electronically that very same night prior to the fire, I completely forgot about it. The truth is I most likely would have never wrote again if I lost that book, but little did I realize, that my priorities had been put in order for me. As the night turned into day and the fire was finally put out I was allowed to go in and search for my keys to my car, the fire chief found them, thank God. I also noticed a stack of books sitting in the very same room my computers were in. They were all toast but that stack of books were just charred on the outside, I was puzzled by this and picked one of them up, the text inside the book was intact, everything was wet but they seemed fine. This was great news, so now I had my book and my paper books. It turns out the way they were stacked actually prevented air from getting in between them, so they couldn't burn. I couldn't believe it, so from those books I started writing and I didn't stop. I finished my first book in 2009 - 2010 and I am being shipped 3 copies as we speak for the first time. How awesome is that? Anyway, back to all these books, to date, I have compiled enough information from the books that I have written 65 different books on various subjects all dealing with mixed drinks and bartending. Here are the titles of my new books that I will be publishing soon.
The Official International Professional Bartender's Guide Series -1st and 2nd editions. other bartending and cocktail books by Expert Master Mixologist David Herpin The Absinthe Family volume I-III The Alexander Family The Aperitif Family The Beer Family The Bloody Family The Cake Family The Candy Family The Champagne Family The Coffee Family The Collins Family The Creme Family The Crown Family The Cup Family The Daisy Family The Digestif Family Vol I-III The Egg Nog Family The Fizz Family The Frozen Family The Galliano Family The Grog Family The Highball Family The Jagermeister Family The Julep Family The Long Island Family The Midori Family The Movie Star Family The Pousse-cafe Family Vol I-VI The Punch Family The Sling Family Vol I-II The Sour Family Vol I-V The Southern Comfort Family The Toddy Family The Tropical Family Vol I-III Herpin's History of Vodka Herpin's History of Gin Herpin's History of Rum Herpin's History of Tequila Herpin's History of Brandy Herpin's History of Cordials Vol I-II Herpin's History of Whiskey Vol I-II Encycleopedia Bartendica - A complete history of bartending Seasonal Drinks - Drinks for every season Family of Drinks - The complete family tree of drinks. The official International Professional Bartending Guide 3rd Deluxe Edition. Believe this or not, I wrote all these in 3 - 4 months! so how is it I could write 60+ books in 3 months but it took me 4 years to write one? It's all about drive which Anthony Morrison talks about a lot. See, I was driven before, but nowhere near as driven as I am now. It is not that it is not a lot of work and hard work. Because it absolutely is very hard work, but, when you are driven and have determination it almost comes effortlessly. Like it's just part of the routine. So where am I now? Well, I have been hired by examiner.com to write articles on cocktail history which you can read from my facebook or twitter accounts or at Dallas cocktails Examiner - Drinks | Examiner.com I also am the CEO of bartend.tk which is The Official International Professional Bartender's College, we also sell tools, accessories, and books. Infact, there are all kinds of freebee's there like free live chat, free vintage bartending guides, free bartending simulator, free cocktail articles (as mentioned above), free consultations. Business still has not picked up, infact I have sold one single book, or had one single student, or sold anything yet, but I am very hopeful for the future. With my first book arriving soon I should at least sell a few and get enough money to buy enough books for a book signing then things should really improve. It gets better, when researching drinks recently I had to contact a very well known bartending/author to verify information on a article that was pertaining to him. I can't say his name because this is a secret project and I can't even release the name of the book. But HE wanted to write a BOOK WITH ME! Can you believe it? If anything I would have thought it would be the other way around, but we are currently working out the details now. So atleast that book we write together will be a big hit, because he is a best selling author and has written several books! I am very excited about this. Recently, I was contacted by bartender magazine and they want to write an article on me and my research and publish it in the fall/winter edition! So things just keep getting better and better. I am really hopeful for my future and I am sure it will be bright very soon! Please take the time to at least add me as a friend and check out the site, if you have the means to please donate to the fire benefit account that has been setup for me and my family (The Herpin Family). It is at Southwest Louisiana Federal Credit union, nothing is too small, last time I checked nobody had donated, not even the people who set up the account for us, but that is okay, and that was 6 months ago, so who knows maybe someone did. I would personally appreciate it very much though and send you a free copy of my first book electronically for any donation over $5, just let me know. You can read the articles about the fire and contact info for the bank at the "contact link" on bartend.tk . Sounds crazy, but the fire really let me know what was important in my life (My wife, My son, My research) and that's all I want. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and I hope this inspires you to accomplish great things too. and if you have any questions regarding drinks or anything at all about bartending send me a message I am easy enough to find! Cheers! everyone and God Bless- |
